Tried and Tested: 6 Best Crime Procedural TV Shows

I love Crime fiction! That being said, it's not surprising that I love seeking out and watching TV shows that are Crime-solving based. In my vast experience (clearing my throat), I have six favourite Crime TV shows that I promise you will enjoy.

1. Criminal Minds: Meet the members of the Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) of the FBI. They profile and sniff out criminals. With the leadership of the hardly-smiling Aaron Hotchner, the group succeed where others fail. One thing that separates this crime series from others is that it not only follows the BAU's process of finding the unsub or criminal but it also focuses on the criminals' thought and behavioural patterns as well.

2. Body of Proof: This medical drama that follows how medical examiner Megan Hunt and her colleagues solve crimes in partnership with the police also has just enough work-place and personal drama to make it enjoyable.

3. Bones: With more than a healthy dose of intertwining personal lives, one wonders how this series works; but it does. Featuring forensic anthropologist and bones whisperer, Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan and FBI Special Agent Booth Seeley, this show brings a new meaning to bones crying out for justice.

4. CSI: New York - One of the spin-offs of the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation series. It is a medical drama that follows the investigation of crimes and determination of culprits by a team of forensic scientists in the NYPD.

5. Rizzoli and Isles: Quirky and funny. It features two personality-wise different leads, brash and boyish Detective Jane Rizzoli and feminine and sophisticated medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles who team up to solve crimes.

6. Law and Order: SVU - This shows focuses on the resolution of sexually based crimes and also incorporates the legal aspect as well.

Honorary mentions: 'The Closer' and 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent', though these shows have been cancelled.
